Well, it has sunk in by now that Tim Tebow is on the Patriots. Back in December of 2011 I couldn’t wait for Tebow and the Denver Broncos to play the Patriots in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. I even posted about it when I first started blogging for my high school’s newspaper.
Well we all know how that playoff game turned out, but in case you forgot:
Clearly in that post I took a subtle disliking to Tebow, but those feelings have since faded. My outlook on the unconventional spiritual zealot has changed even since I tweeted just the other day promising an angry Tebow post on this very site. After a, for the lack of a more appropriate word, lively vacation in Martha’s Vineyard with some great friends, I am over the Patriots/Tebow media hysteria. Tebow on the Patriots is NOT a big deal. In the grand scheme of things I do not even think he is going to touch the field all that much, but he is exactly what the Patriots need.
You’ve heard it a million times, but here’s a million and one: The guy is a winner. But now, unlike last year with the Jets, he is on a team full of winners. Starting with owner Robert Kraft all the way down to the guys that clean the parking lots after games, the organization is full of people that eat pancakes infused with winning for breakfast. Signed, sealed, delivered, there it is, the Patriots just got one more winner. See you in the playoffs.
